On 28th Nov.2013 the director of Cambodian National Electric Power Company (EDC) Strategic Planning Bureau Dr. Praing Chulasa led the director of the Electricity Bureau in Sihanoukville Province to visit the SSEZ and made researches about the electricity consumption and demands.
The General Manager DAI Yue’E of SSEZ Company made a warm reception of Dr.Praing Chulasa and showed the appreciation to the support of Cambodian EDC. MS. DAI made a report about the situation of the SSEZ Company such as the achievement of marketing, electricity demand and operation and the prediction of the future demand of the electricity. Moreover, she mentioned the worrying about the conflict between the demand and supply of electricity when the companies which would consume a large amount of electricity are introduced in the future. She hoped the director could pay more attention to the power transmission and transformation system to reduce the similar accidents such as power cuts.
Dr. Praing Chulasa expressed that the investment conditions in the SSEZ is pretty good. After the CEL 2*50MW was put into operation, the pressure of electricity supply is released dramatically. Now there is a large amount of electricity remaining in the Sihanoukville Province, therefore a large part of electricity was transferred to Phnom Penh. In 2014, the CIIDG heat-engine plant will be finished, at that time, the electricity supply will be better.
He said that the construction of the special line from Stearns Hao to the Sihanoukville Province is starting and this line will be used to transfer electricity to down town. After that, the original line will be used to transfer electricity for big industrial companies along the highway 4 only. In addition, the large transformer substation (20MW) near the Angkor Bear Factory will be finished in July 2014, which will eliminate power obstacle of company introduction. At that time, with the increase of the consumption of electricity, the price will be decreased step by step. In terms of some problems such as the occasional blackouts, he said they will pay more attention to the stability and security of electricity supply and reduce the accidents during the electricity supply. |
